hummux 1994 "The Esselen 4-Color Mandala and the Theory Of Process" & "Los Padres - The First Dam in California NOT Built"

hummux, a PhD physicist, and long time student and teacher of Arthur Young’s theory, gave a beautiful synopsis of the subject of his research while living with the Ventana Wilderness based Esselen Tribe of Monterey County. This Informative and comprehensive presentation was given at the Institute for the Study of Consciousness in the Fall of 1994.

Further information can be found in “Mending the Sacred Hoop - Integrating the Theory of Process with Native American Mythology” by Little Bear and hummux at http://www.arthuryoung.com/hummox.html. In addition, “The Theory of Evolutionary Process as a Unifying Paradigm” by Frank Barr, MD, on the web (click here), is a great companion to this video and contains a great deal of information and graphics on which this lecture is based.

Arthur Middleton Young (November 3, 1905 – May 30, 1995) was an American inventor, helicopter pioneer, cosmologist, philosopher, astrologer and author. He founded the "Institute for the Study of Consciousness" in Berkeley in 1972. Young advocated a process theory, which integrates the realm of human thought and experience with the realm of science so that the concept of universe is not limited to that which can be physically measured.

After the traditional ISC mid-evening cookie and tea break, hummux continued his story, showing how recovering the genealogy, archaeology, ethnography, and language of the Esselen Tribe helped to stop the proposed Los Padres dam which was to be 6 times bigger than the water needed and would have facilitated complete build out of the entire Monterrey peninsula. For once the “Tree Huggers” defeated “Deep Pockets!”
