About Public Access TV Stations - Public TV
Public TV stations are locally run TV stations - most with limited funding for staff.

Communities with cable TV franchises can stipulate that one or more, channels be allocated for
Public, Educational and Government (PEG) use. The Public channel is usually run as a community station.
Often a small fee is added to the monthly cable bill for the Public TV station. Usually this is limited for the purchase of equipment - not staff.

Public Access TV stations are not PBS stations and do not have the significant funding PBS stations have. Some PBS stations will also broadcast community requested 911 shows. You will find out a lot about your PBS station by asking them to broadcast some 911 shows.
