This video reviews the dangerous history of nuclear arms and depleted uranium, and it also tells the audacious untold history of the disarmament movement. The last part features Marion Küpker of GAAA, Gewaltfreie Aktion Atomwaffen Abschaffen (GAAA, Nonviolent Action to Abolish Nuclear Weapons). The video was made by Vic Sadot from the audio recorded by David Yandle of the presentation by John LaForge in Fellowship Hall, Berkeley, California on Oct 13, 2016, sponsored by BFUU Social Justice Committee. Vic has done a great job of applying numerous well researched video clips to this audio file. His tight and flowing video presentation makes John’s words sparkle! Since many of us had not heard any news reporting that a historic vote in the UN General Assembly was held on Oct 27, 2016, two weeks before this presentation, we first learned about it from John LaForge. The vote was overwhelming to make 2017 the year to push the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty forward through UN sponsored conferences: 123 In Favor; 38 Against; 16 Abstentions. The vote was an act of defiance toward the Security Council, as almost all nuclear-armed powers voted no, with some notable abstentions. The mainstream media buried the story as if it was not a significant event in human history! A stunning and memorable update presentation by John LaForge to celebrate the updated re-publication of “Nuclear Heartland,” A Nukewatch book. Edited by John M. LaForge and Arianne S. Peterson. With Original Content by Samuel H. Day Jr. Forward by Mathew Rothschild. Afterward by Bonnie Urfer. -- Produced: 2017, Episode: JLF-NH HD, Category: Education, 58:00 -- |

Israeli Practices towards the Palestinian People and the Question of Apartheid
Published in 2017 by
United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia
Palestine and the
Israeli Occupation, Issue No. 1
“This report
establishes, on the basis of scholarly inquiry and overwhelming evidence, that
Israel is guilty of the crime of apartheid."
Recommendations:
1.Private sector actors should also be reminded of
their legal, moral and political responsibility to sever ties with commercial
ventures and projects that directly or indirectly aid and abet the apartheid
regime imposed.
2.Efforts should be made to broaden support for
Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions [BDS] initiatives among civil society actors. Right there in the UN document itself
Finally! BDS reaches
the shores of America! Just because the
UN, under intense pressure from you-know-who and you-know-why, has removed this
document from their web site, does not mean it will go away. Rather, it means we now have a scholarly document that
formally accuses Israel of “inhuman acts” and “crimes against humanity” which
will hold up in international court. Be
sure to download, read carefully, pass around, beware of thot control and
anti-semitism and as always, keep on BDSing!
