| In February of 1986, at the invitation of the Black Student Union at
Los Angeles City College, Dr. Ivan Van Sertima delivered perhaps one of
the most brilliant lectures of his career. He essentially obliterated
the Columbus Myth and explained how Africa disintegrated under centuries
of onslaught from without. Trained as a linguist, historian, writer and anthropologist all wrapped into one, Dr. Van Sertima was uniquely qualified as a world renowned scholar who studied Africa and the African diaspora. His scholarship place him among the pantheon of the world most brilliant minds in his field. His most famous work is the international bestseller (They came before Columbus), and the journals of African civilization. He is a literary critic, a linguist, and anthropologist and has made a name in all three fields. Ivan Gladstone Van Sertima (26 January 1935 – 25 May 2009) was a Guyanese-born associate professor of Africana Studies at Rutgers University in the United States. He was best known for his Olmec alternative origin speculations, a brand of pre-Columbian contact theory, which he proposed in his book “They Came Before Columbus” (1976). Zone Zero 2010 "Humanure"
| Hoo, a longtime activist (since he met koo) and koo, a lifelong
activist, gave this workshop at the Permaculture Design Course at Big
Bend Hot Springs in California on August 6, 2010. Starting with a spiritual base and a Native American four-direction mandala, they show that the collection, care and composting of human feces (scat) and urine must be dealt with in a holistic way. Hoo shows how the mandala overlays the human chakras. Relying heavily on Joseph Jenkins landmark book, “The Humanure Handbook” they develop their thesis that human scat is a valuable fertilizer which must never be considered waste and discarded. They point out that combining human scat with drinking water is fundamentally insane, turning both of these resources into waste. We then spend huge amounts of money on sewage treatment plants and chemical fertilizers. The key to proper composting is theomophilic bacteria, our Universal Ancestor, having been around for 3 billion years. When properly fed, watered and aerated, these bacteria flourish at 140°F, thereby killing all pathogens. To demonstrate and make available the “Scat Catcher,” hoo and koo went to the Occupy Monterey General Assembly at Colton Hall, January 15, 2011. Barrie Zwicker 2002 "The Great Deception" + hummux 2004 "Enlightenment is a Full Time Job"
| Broadcaster and writer Barrie Zwicker has specialized in media
criticism since 1970. He was the media critic for Canada's Vision TV
(available in 8-million homes) from the channel's inception in 1988.
With this series of seven commentaries "What Really Happened on
September 11th," Zwicker was the first person in the world to suggest on
mainstream television that elements of the U.S. Government were complicit in the events of 9/11. The series generated the largest (and 99% positive) response of any programming in the channel's history. To fill a 1 hour PATV time slot the following interview has been appended: hummux 2004 "Enlightenment is a Full Time Job" (pronounced who-mook, lower case) This interview was made at the 2004 "Toronto International Citizen's Inquiry into 9/11" where hummux produced the video for the conference organized by Barrie Zwicker. They have been great friends ever since. The following description is excerpted from Barrie Zwicker's 2006 book, "Towers of Deception."Born and bred a cold warrior, hummux went to M.I.T. on a scholarship then earned his PhD in physics from Case Institute of Technology. He worked on Star Wars projects for 20 years, including the "Star Wars" anti-missile systems at Lawrence Livermore Labs. Then the Cold War ended. The Enemy, the Soviet Union, was defeated. He quit physics, took to the woods for 10 years, transforming himself into hummux. After September 11, 2001, hummux saw that a new scam was in the making. The sustained hoax of a world domination by communism was being replaced by the new hoax of the war on terror. Gene Sharp, Senior Scholar of the Albert Einstein Institution, shares insights from his life study of how nonviolent struggle can work. For many years Gene and the Albert Einstein Institution have been mentors and catalysts for nonviolent struggle throughout the world. In this film Gene shows with example after compelling example what it takes to nurture successful nonviolent struggle. Military people trained in violence as the only way and people fighting against military violence can change their minds, hearts and ways as they learn how nonviolent struggle can work. In 1992, the Food and Drug Administration claimed they had no information showing that GM foods were substantially different from conventionally grown foods. This lie has become industry mantra and the FDA leaves it up to the likes of Monsanto to verify their safety and therefore absolutely no safety studies are required. In reality, FDA scientists themselves had repeatedly warned that GM foods can create unpredictable, hard-to-detect side effects, including allergies, toxins, new diseases, and nutritional problems. They urged long-term safety studies, but were ignored. Internal memos made public by a lawsuit reveal the FDA position was staged by political appointees who were under orders from the White House to promote GMOs. In addition, the FDA official in charge of creating this policy was Michael Taylor, the former attorney for Monsanto, the largest biotech company, and later their vice president. Today, the same biotech companies who have been found guilty of hiding toxic effects of their chemical products are in charge of determining whether their GM foods are safe. Industry-funded GMO safety studies are too superficial to find most of the potential dangers, and their voluntary consultations with the FDA are widely criticized as a meaningless façade. GM plants, such as soybean, corn, cottonseed, and canola, have had foreign genes forced into their DNA. The inserted genes come from species, such as bacteria and viruses, which have never been in the human food supply. |
