Walter Burien 2011 “The Only Game in Town”

Walter Burien points out that all towns, cities, counties, states, and the federal government have invested heavily in the stock market.  It is their primary source of revenue.  He claims that all together, government entities, due to their interlocking and self-perpetuating funding schemes, and greedy self interest of the controllers, now own it all!   On paper, this is TRILLIONs of dollars, more that the total Gross National Product  (the entire worth) of the USA! His source is the Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports (CAFR) issued by every municipality, city, town, county, state, and the federal government.  However this is not made PUBLIC but is the Government's Wealth Exposed!   Budget Report, which is shown to you, only shows the Tax Income. CAFR is the holy grail of accounting, never talked, about never mentioned, never discussed because it shows the gross income, and the investment wealth government is building. Government now owns it all by investment!   His suggestion is to make a Tax Retirement Fund (TRF), structured exactly like personal retirement funds and run for the benefit of the people, not the government which presently makes investments for themselves.
